My birthday that is. Yesterday I turned 21, ok ok, 26. I’m a olllllld lady! I had the greatest birthday ever. Only if my Dad would’ve been here would it have been perfect. Thanks to EVERYONE for all the wonderful birthday wishes. I’m totally caught up with editing, so be prepared for several blog posts in the next couple days! Yay!!! The Cowboys are kinda in a funk right now, but I still gotta support MY BOY!
Things are really picking up! I’m so excited to be doing all that I’m doing. I’m blessed and I know it. The site is up and kickin! It’s awesome and I love it soooo much. www.jhicks-photography.com Check it out and come back often. I’m technically not a full-time photographer in real life. I do have a “regular” job that I loooooove so much. But at heart, I’m 100% full-time. I live and breathe pictures. I’m always looking, making mental notes at what’s around me. I have lots of fun ideas for my future. Things are going to be BIG. I always said GO BIG OR GO HOME. I’m gonna stick to that. I promise to get this blog caught up soon. I have several posts I need to put up. But, I’m taking this weekend off. I’ve been working myself to the bone, and I just needed a Saturday/Sunday to relax.
Anyways, the reason for this post. A little while back I met this photographer on myspace, Tara Swain. First of all, she’s an amazing photographer, but second of all, she’s become one of my really great friends. She’s not local, so she’s not competition 😛 But I tell you what, if you live anywhere near Dallas/Paris, TX, LOOK HER UP! She’s done so much for me, from taking my headshots, to this video. She even put together this blog!!! I dunno what I’d do without all her help!! THANKS SO MUCH TARA!!!
Now, me and Tara will be making a full length promotional COMMERCIAL, but for now, this will have to hold you over. This is an aweseom addition to my blog! A little behind the scenes action. And be sure to turn your speakers ON when you’re watching. Press play, then press pause and let it load, so you can really get the whole AWESOMENESS.\
have never said I was good at photographing babies. No, I don’t specialize in Newborn photography. I don’t claim to. But I tell you what, when I get the chance to photography a baby like little Madilyn, my confidence in myself goes through the roof! She was so well behaved, never cried. Well, until the end, but who could blame her!! She was hungry and we had changed her outfit about a million times!!!
Thanks Ben for the AWESOME chair! I love it already, and Madilyn thinks it’s super comfortable! Geez, it’s exhausting being THIS beautiful ALL the time!!
This pose they wanted to do. And I just LOVE IT. And I love even more how Madilyn is giving me the “what the heck are ya’ll doing to me” look!!
These are my favorites!! Leave lots of love for this sweet adorable family!! I hope to work with them many many times in the future!
So every “self-taught” photographer knows that the best way to learn is through networking and learning from the best. So where else to go then visit Tara Swain out in Paris, Texas!! She ROCKS the camera. So we decided, let’s make our own workshop! It’s not officially JT Workshop 2008. 2009 already in the works and will include off camera lighting and some more kick booty stuff. Tara was unsure about being on the opposite side of the camera, but I personally think shes gorgeous! So here’s a couple of her headshots so she can update her blog/website!
And Tara got her new shootsac cover just in time for our photoshoot!
