Dear Dad.
Me and Emma hung your Christmas ornament on the tree. We really really miss you. The only thing I could ever ask for for Christmas is to know that you have seen your grandchild. That you are looking down on us and smiling. That you are proud of me and the mother I am. I’m raising her right, dad. I’m trying. Everything you and mom have taught me, I listened. We talk about you every day, sometimes I feel like you are here, standing behind me and making Emma smile. I ask her if she can see grandpa and she smiles. I know you are in her heart. I will never forget you, and I promise Emma loves you so much. She is the most perfect baby in the whole world, and I know you hand picked her for me and Matt. He’s a great dad, I know you are proud of him too. We wish you were here to share her first Christmas. But on Christmas morning, we will stop and look up to the sky and wave at you. So be watching. We love you Dad (and grandpa). Hope you have another beautiful Christmas in Heaven.

I can so relate to this post having lost my Dad almost 7 years ago. You said everything beautifully and had me crying over here at work. I actually laughed when you said you know he’s there when Emma is staring off laughing. Owen used to do that all the time and I thought the same thing, Dad’s playing with him again! Hope yall have a Merry Christmas with that new sweet baby!
Your dad is proud Jess! You are a great mom and he sees that everyday. I love you guys! Miss ya’ll and I need to hold Emma really SOON! I’m going crazy here. I absolutely love the pictures in this post. I need a family portrait of the 3 of ya’ll to hang on my wall.
