Holly + Clint + a carnival! | Nederland Engagement Session

I have a few blogs lined up to post, I just haven’t had a chance to actually sit still for 5 minutes!  I love love love my job.  When we were parking our cars at the Texas state fair last weekend, I just sat there for a minute.  I looked at Heather and said “I can’t BELIEVE it’s my JOB to come to the fair”.  I still get shocked every time I get to do something so amazing.  I never in a million bazillion years thought I’d be where I am now.  It’s almost not fair.  I feel like I don’t know what I did to deserve it.  But I’m not taking it for granted.  And trying very hard to enjoy every single exhausting bit of my work life!!!

We started out at this hay field.  As usual…I love these shots.  My most favorite locations are the simple ones.  The ones where you can concentrate on the subjects, the most important part of the photos!  There were some nearby yellow flowers, so duh….we had to check them out first!

PS…a few blogs I’m working out “How to choose your Location” and “What to wear!”.  Holly and Clint will be ON BOTH BLOGS!  I did suggest the carnival, but they were very helpful in choosing the field and the park.  Remember this session is ABOUT YOU.  I want the photos to show that.  And also, they have the PERFECT outfits.  Both of them, PERFECT!

This is probably my favorite.  I just love how casual it is.  You can’t fake that kinda love!

I don’t see how it would be possible to look at this photo of Holly and not be wowed by her beauty!  They are a gorgeous couple, both of them.  But Holly defiantly steals the show in this image!! Sorry Clint:) But I bet you agree with me.

Every photographer that shoots on location understands that wind is probably one of the worst things that can happen to a session.  A little wind = AWESOME.  But alot of hurricane force winds = not so awesome.  We already had to reschedule Holly and Clint’s session once because of wind.  On this day it was bad, but it was just gusty.  Not constant.  But they worked it out nicely:)

I love when Clint couldn’t take his eyes off Holly:)

PERFECT OUTFITS!

YAAAAAAY!  The people at the carnival were so awesome.  They even let me ride the rides for free, since I was just taking pictures, and not actually riding.  It was so fun!!!

So much KISSING!!! I know I know…I can’t help it.  Your engaged…you should kiss ALOT!

Hi that’s ME!  I know..I’m ALL hips  :):)

My other favorite:) Canvas = yes.

Whew.  These pictures are my favorites.  Well I can’t pick favorites…but they are up on the list pretty high.  I’d rather think of myself as a “memory capture-er” then a “photographer”.  I have ZERO engagement photos of me and my husband.  I would give just about anything to go back and redo it.  I know I can have our pictures made now.  But there’s nothing like that session where you are freshly engaged and so excited for your future.  I am trying to make it my goal to really capture the couple in every session.  Not just “take pictures of them”.  I hope I never fall into that trap.  There’s nothing wrong with being THAT kind of photographer, that’s just not me!!  Holly and Clint are taking me with them to California to photograph their wedding at a WINERY!  What?  I mean seriously?  Is this my life I’m living!  Feels like some kind of story:)

Up next!

Amanda + Brett.

Morgan + Brandon.

And two more group senior blogs!

Whoa…looks like I have alot of work to do!!!:)

Living in Nederland myself, it’s inspiration to see beautiful shots like this taken in a not so photogenic town. I love what the wind did to the hayfield! It looks amazing! Carnival shots are awesome, bright and contrasty! Love ‘em! Good job!
